The US National Science Foundation just posted this new STEM ed program: Improving Undergraduate STEM Education

Notes: NSF invites proposals to its Improving Undergraduate STEM Education: Education and Human Resources program seeking to promote novel, creative, and transformative approaches to generating and using new knowledge about STEM teaching and learning to improve STEM education for undergraduate students. There are two separate tracks, each with three different funding levels, associated with this announcement : 1) Engaged Student Learning (supports design, development, and research projects that involve the creation, exploration, or implementation of tools, resources, and models) and 2) Institutional and Community Transformation (supports innovative work applying evidence-based practices that improve undergraduate STEM education and research on the organizational change processes involved in implementing evidence-based practices).

US Department of the Interior has come out with this interesting proactive monitoring opportunity for waters in their jurisdictions: Automated Maintenance of Protection Systems Challenge

Notes: The Bureau of Reclamation invites submissions to its Automated Maintenance of Protection Systems Challenge seeking solutions for managing, developing and protecting water and related resources, through improving its efficiencies in monitoring and testing of electric power protection systems. Multiple Phase 1 prizes of up to $10,000 each and advancement to Phase 2 may be made. Eligibility is unrestricted.
